Letter 1-30-18

Wow, this week, a lot of things happened!!!

1.) Well, everyone, I’m old enough now in the mission where I got my "trunky call", to prepare you to go home in 3 months, or 2 transfers. AHH I’m nervous but excited! I feel like I’m just starting to get a hang of this missionary life and all. :P haha But that's how it goes.
2.) We got to go to the temple today, so awesome! I love being able to sit in the Celestial room and feel the spirit and the peace the temple brings. :) Rainbows also were able to make an appearance and so did the sun! :) What a blessing!
3.) We got to make a chocolate sheet cake... :) Didn't turn out as yummy because the lady that we were making it with kinda messed up, but hey it's still edible! haha that's what matters right?! haha
4.) This week we got to talk to at least 15 new people and had quality gospel conversations! It was pretty awesome! :) haha
5.) OHHH yeah!!! So I was super bold and courageous more than I ever had in my life! haha like really! So we have an investigator who we haven't been able to meet with forever and yeah so she set up a time with us and we went and knocked on her door with the primary president. :) Her little boy answers the door, then runs to ask her, comes back and says no, sorry she's busy and I was like....are you sure because we set up this time to meet with her and he's like okay let me check one more time. He goes back and was like yeah no she's busy right now and my comp, Sister Quayle and Sister Johnson were ready to go but then I said, are you sure, we could wait for a few minutes or reschedule a time to meet...They both were like oh my goodness Sister McKnight what are you doing? Even the little boy rolled his eyes and then went back to his mom to ask, then like 30 seconds later the door swings open and it’s the mom...(now I’m thinking she's possible going to yell but!!!.....) She says hi, and lets us right in!!! :) We got to know her better and have an awesome lesson on the Plan of Salvation! :) We were also so glad that Sister Johnson came, it helped so much! :)
*I hope you got all that, sorry if it's confusing. :P
6.) An investigator that we put on date that we had to give to our DL because she lived in their area and she's going to get baptized this Saturday!! YAY!!!! :)

Spiritual thought from the scriptures:
Jacob 3:1 "....LOOK unto God with firmness of mind, and pray unto him with exceeding faith, and he will console you in your afflictions, and he will plead your cause, and send down justice upon those who seek your destruction."
*(my thoughts) Ever since the last general conf. in April the adjective to LOOK has stood out to me. :) I don't know why but it does. :) Then I love how Jacob tells us what to do so that way we can overcome our afflictions and be comforted. Two main things LOOK and PRAY. I can promise that as you do those two things you'll be blessed so much in so many ways you won't be able to count! haha

I love you all so much and am grateful for all that you are and do for me.

Letter 1-22-18

HELLO!!!!(in Ms. Doubtfire's voice) How are you?! Well this week has been pretty interesting! We have a member that thinks that we don't know how to teach and the way we teach (which by the way is from PMG-made by the prophets and apostles) is not the right way and that it's not what people need to hear. He also stated that he receives revelation for what this investigator needs and things like that...so yeah things were and are interesting, but all will work out fine in the end. :)

Also,(BIG ANNOUNCEMENT PEOPLE) I'm starting to just stop random people and talk to them about the gospel and things like that instead of just saying hi, which I'm really proud about! I'm growing! :) haha There are times when I don't and I kick myself, but I'm doing better! I think I'm slowly but surly getting a hang of this! :) haha It's never easy to do it, but it is so worth it because people start to open up to you and share things and almost everyone has already known someone in their life who is a member of the church. :) #miraclesdohappen

Also another miracle is that we saw the sun and the blue sky!!!! It was so beautiful!!!!! We haven't been able to see the sun in so long! I"m becoming SOOO white! I lost all my tan even though i still have tan lines! ahh!!! haha

P.S. There's power in the Book of Mormon!!!! 1 Nephi 15:24 READ IT! IT'LL CHANGE YOUR LIFE
Love you all!

Letter 1-16-18

This week we had stake conference! It was pretty awesome! Our Stake President had lots of good things to say and good things for me to hear! :) One of his talks was all about "you are where you are supposed to be to become who you are supposed to be!" And I just love that! We are all here wherever we are in whatever circumstances we may be to become who God sees in us and wants us to be.

A cool scripture that I found reading/starting the Book of Mormon for the 3rd time on my mission is 1 Nephi 15:24!!! There is so much power in the Book of Mormon!!! I don't think we or I understand how much power is in the Book of Mormon! It is the most powerful resource and tool to help others come closer to Christ, to find peace in this life, to find joy and comfort, to find wisdom. All can be found in the Book of Mormon! It was written for us, you and me. Isn't that amazing!!!!! :) I think so! We are so blessed to be born in this time where we can learn and grow and become and learn from the Book of Mormon.

I promise you that as you read the Book of Mormon, every day (no matter how much), but every day, pray daily, and got to church as often as you can (preferably every Sunday, but not everyone can do that) you will find: your answers, peace, comfort, joy, happiness, love.

I love you all and I hope you are all having a wonderful time! You're all the best! And thank you for your prayers and support, it means everything! #youdabomb!!!

Love you all always and forever!

Clip from our Christmas call

Letter 1-8-18

Well Hello everyone!!! I'm still alive!!! First time in East Kennewick! :) The very first night, was so awesome! We were trying to contact some referrals that we had received but it turns out that it wasn't who we were looking for. So we started to tell her our purpose and how we teach and share a message about Jesus Christ and then she says "do you want to come in?" And I was like "SURE!" :) So we went in! She has never heard of or talked to missionaries before. Has never read the Book of Mormon or heard of that either. We taught her the restoration! :) Gave her a copy of the book of Mormon and set a return appointment to come back! What an amazing miracle!!!!

Second miracle! An investigator, Lizeth (pronounced lizzet) got baptized this last Saturday!!! We got to go out to eat with her and her family and some members and while we were talking. Cameron (husband of Lizeth), a member, Sister Taylor, and me were talking about if he was interested or not. I read Moroni 10:3-5. Asked if we could come back and read the BOM or discuss some of his concerns and he said..."would tomorrow work?" And I said "YES!" We had a great discussion yesterday, invited him to read the Book of Mormon and listen to it on his drives to work and promised him that he will receive the answer he is looking for. I also read to him 3 Nephi 11:3 and related it to him about how his answers may not come as booming loud shaking but as a still small voice where you may not hear it at first, but if you do all that you can do hear it, you can hear it and you will know that it is of God. :) SO COOL! :)

Yeah, so anyways! We have a great new apartment. We share it with a set of Hermanas! They are awesome! :) Have a great ward! The chapel is BEAUTIFUL!!! We are going to #lighttheworldonfire!!!!!!!!! :)

I love you all so much! You're the best ever!!!

OH BTW, I will not email till Tuesday these next two weeks because of zone conferences and then the next week is temple so yeah. :)

Letter 1-2-18

WOW!!! 2017, has come and gone! I've been a missionary for the whole year of 2017! Won't ever be able to say that again. Have a grown so much!!! Been through ups and downs, smiles and tears, stretching and pulling like never before.  What a wonderful time! I've been able to meet so many people and my faith has grown so much! My love for the Book of Mormon has sky rocketed! Like amazing!!!! :) <3

Sadly, Today will be my last day in Connell, I’ve called to another area and the scary thing- :P is that it is out of Pasco!!! My whole mission, up to this point, I’ve been in the Pasco and Pasco North stakes, and now I’m going to Kennewick East Stake.  I've never met my next companion and this will also be my very first time being and senior companion!! It's crazy that I’m old enough to be one, but I’m so nervous. Also with this new transfer, I’ve been released as an STL.  Please wish me luck. I’m so nervous for a new area, companion, etc. But I will be believing and doubt not. :)

Don't forget to forgive others and yourself. And remember how important it is to administer to "the one". Doubt not, but be believing! Read the BOM and pray every day!

I love you all. I hope you New Year’s Eve and New Year’s started off on the right foot and continues to be awesome!

I love you all!!!
