Letter 3-20-17

This week was AMAZING!!!! On Friday we got to do another church tour with our other investigator, Marsha! :) She even came in a skirt! She decided to do that on her own, because we want this to be an amazing experience, we just say wear what you are comfortable in but that is presentable, you know. :P Anyways, she came even though she wasn't feeling the best, because we couldn't reschedule so she came. A member came with us, Sister Adams, the tour went great! We sang her 'Joseph's first prayer' for her at the end, because she wanted to see it and I caught her wiping away a tear. :) It was beautiful! Then we asked if she'd been praying about a specific date to be baptized and she said she hasn't but she feels good about it,(being baptized) so I'm SOOO excited to commit her to a baptismal date. :)

So yesterday, Sunday was amazing! On reason it was awesome, was because Janelle, one of our
investigators came to church, again, now two weeks in a row!! :) She's amazing!

The lessons on Sunday were amazing! They were all about the family and teaching the Saviors way. :) <3 And I just wanted to take some time to thank my amazing Mother and Father! :) <3 Thank you for teaching the Saviors way: calmly, listening, talking, helping, loving those you teach (:P of course you would love your kids :)) .  It truly did make a difference. Continue to teach repentance, and how it is not a bad thing, its' a beautiful, wonderful gift.  So don't give up on us Mom and Dad. :) I haven't and will never give up on you to become even more Christlike. :) Thanks for being there for/with me and teaching me the things that I am now teaching others. Thanks for listening to me and understanding me, and hearing and connecting with me as I am growing older. :)

Also one thing that I learned yesterday is the one way that can really help strengthen the family, is strengthen your marriage.  And that it's very important to do that because Satan is working very hard to attack and tear apart the family as much as he can.

Everyone, please take time to pray and thank your Heavenly Father for the families which you have.  Step back and really look at how they have helped you in your life and helped you become who you are today. :) Also take time to go and thank them personally, it will be amazing and it will help your family grow together, even closer.

I love you all and I thank you for everything that you do for me, You're all the best! I love and appreciate all of you and the difference you have made in my life! <3 Never forget that you all helped me to be where I am and who I am today. <3

Moments with Members

3-9-17

Hi! My name is Kim Myers from Pasco 6th Ward! We just had your sweet missionary over for dinner and wanted you to know how grateful we are to have her here serving in our ward! She's such a sweet girl! We're taking good care of her! 😄 Thank you for sharing her with us!

3-8-17
Hello there! Sister McKnight and Sister Passey had dinner with us tonight. They are the sweetest! They wanted me to send this video along. They are both a little sick and covered in bug bites- but still all smiles. Love them! They are both good examples to my girls. Thank you for sending them out into the world for us to enjoy and love.

She's precious. Funny, strong, sweet and everything I would want in a daughter. We enjoy the elders but I gotta say we love the sisters. If you ever need anything from her or for her please let me know.

~Julie Dawes
PS- the video was funnier in slow motion. But I guess it doesn't send that way. She gives sister Passey the funniest look but you can't see it.
Okay, I just re-watched it and maybe it was funnier being here, but we all had a good time.
😊

Letter 3-13-17

Well....haha.... This week has been quite some week. :P It's been really busy without it being busy if that makes any sense. :)

Tuesday we had such an amazing zone council! We learned how to become better missionaries at a whole other level.  Lots of missionaries that have been out way longer than I have said that this training changes everything! In a nut shell, we learned how to make each lesson we teach meaningful and personal to each one of our investigators.  We learned how we should pray and teach the first lesson better that way the people we teach will be more willing to except Christ in their life and to demonstrate their faith by following the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized by someone holding the priesthood power of God. :) It was amazing! We learned how to better be their guides in the conversion process and by having three main things that can help "keep the line tight" :) which is
C.P.R.
Church attendance
Pray daily
Read your scriptures
Those three things can do miracles and I've seen it work in our investigators lives. :)

Please continue to pray for Marsha and Janelle, we so dearly want them to be baptized by the end of this upcoming five week transfer. :) <3

Then to the crazy part, so you all know that we got bit by something and my companion wasn't doing well, we went to the doctors because it wasn't getting any better and it started to get worse.  We went to the doctors and they still couldn't find out what was wrong with her so she did tests and found out that she had a UTI and she got medication for it.  Then we went to a skin doctor for her bites (36 of them) and they gave her cream to help with that, which it is working, with the swelling and redness, but no one could tell us what had been biting us, not even a pest control man. :/

But one of our investigators gave us some Biotamacheus earth (however you spell that) and put it between our two mattresses which helped. I recommend anyone that has a bug problem, get this, it will work miracles! Anyways, so we didn't stop getting bites completely, but then one of our members called and told us everything that we were experiencing matched up to be what was called an assassin bug or a kissing bug. :/ Now we are not entirely sure, but yeah. Because we found what we thought was a squash bug, but which could really be an assassin bug.... so as we were deep cleaning again, I found a dead one so we are going to keep it and ask around and see if they know what it could be.  But we put that earth stuff ALL OVER our apartment and see how that can help from the meantime till they bomb the place. :P But yeah, so fun! haha

So yeah then today, we got our transfer calls and Sister Passey and I are staying together for another transfer! (5 weeks this time) She's been in the area for 5 transfers now. :) It's going to be awesome, she's my step mom and she's going to greenie bust me and we are going to see more miracles. :)
Sorry for that long story, but that's all that really happened this past week.  I love you all, please continue to write and email me and send pictures I love all of them so much!

Through Christ you can do hard things! <3

Sorry, I forgot one important part! :P So one of our investigators, Janelle came to church yesterday!!!!!!! AHHH!!!!!! We were so excited! Then to make Sunday even better, Sister Passey and I sang "Joseph Smith's First prayer" hymn 26 in sacrament meeting. :) <3 I think we sounded really awesome! We got to sing harmony together! It was perfect for Janelle and what she needed to hear. :) <3 It was so awesome! AHHH!!!! <3

Text from Frank (an investigator)

February 27, 2017

Thank you. Heavenly Father I life these two sisters up for you to watch over and protect. TO guide and do your will. Give them the wisdom and courage to do your will. Bring the lost and hungry to them as a gift to share the word. Bless them Father as they are a blessing to me. A gift from you to me and how I love to talk to them about you. That they travel and share their love for you with all they meet. In the name of your living son Jesus Christ. Amen.

Every parent's dream letter

So this past week I learned a lot about how lucky I am for the two of you being amazing parents, and I just wanted to thank you for that. :) Thank you for sharing your testimony to us as your children.  Keep doing that, it will help build us as kids to become stronger, knowing that you know, love and believe the things that are taught in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. :) And another gift you receive is having your own testimony strengthened in the process. :) Continue letting them know how much it means in your life, answer their questions about the gospel and to talk about the temple and how important it is to be able to go there one day. :) One of our part member families talks about how she wishes her parents could have done that and she hopes she can do that for her kids now, even though her husband is not a member, which we are working on. :P They are all great people. :) I also wanted to say thank you for having us do family scripture study every day and family prayer.  It has and will continue to make a difference in the family.  So many again, have talked about how they wish they could have been better, but we're so lucky that you've been already doing that. :) I love you both so much and thank you for all that you do. :)

P.S. hey Dad, just a question because I'm curious, have you figured out or know your priesthood line? We were studying about the priesthood for a part member family that we were teaching and he wanted to know more about the priesthood and I came across that men can trace their priesthood all the way back to Christ and how amazing that is! :)

Anyways I love you both and thank you so much for everything that you do for me and the family!

Love you Always and Forever,
